West Melbourne Police-Involved Shooting At Hammock Landings

WEST MELBOURNE, Florida – One person suffered injuries after an officer-involved shooting Friday night; they were taken to the hospital, the West Melbourne Police Department said.

The shooting took place at about 6 p.m. at the Hammock Landings Shopping Center off Palm Bay Road and Norfolk Parkway, officials said.

Police closed the entrance to Hammock Landing off Norfolk Parkway due to the incident, police said.

The officer involved was not injured.

Police have not released information on what led up to the shooting.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is still investigating the scene.
