WEST MELBOURNE, Florida – A West Melbourne homeless man was arrested and charged with sexual battery on a person 14 to 16-years old, False Imprisonment, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

Raul Martinez-Sanchez, 67, allegedly befriended a 14-year-old girl as she was walking on West New Haven Avenue. The victim says that he convinced her to go back with him to a garage where he was living at 44 McClain Drive in West Melbourne, Fl.

Upon arriving, Martinez-Sanchez allegedly gave the young girl multiple beers and committed a forcible sexual battery.

According to the alleged victim, she was able to get away from Martinez-Sanchez after punching him several times. Next, she called her family and 911 for help.

Police say that Martinez-Sanchez is homeless and was living in the garage illegally. He moved into the garage several months prior, but he was supposed to be just cleaning up the rental property for the owners.

Martinez-Sanchez was served both an arrest warrant and a search warrant at the residence. Durning the search, investigators found multiple items belonging to the young teenager.
