MELBOURNE, Florida – A 33-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly chased his brother around with an AR-15 rifle at his home in Melbourne.

The victim called the Melbourne Police Department to report that his brother, Jonathon David Board, was “out of control” and pointing an AR-15 rifle at him.

Officers arrived at the scene and made contact with the victim. He stated that his brother was intoxicated and was walking around with the rifle.

“[The victim] stated he tried to get Jonathan to put the rifle away but he refused,” the officer said.

The victim confronted Board to put down the rifle, but he shoved him then pointed the rifle and shouted he was done if he didn’t move.

The victim then ran behind a car thinking he was about to be shot by Board.

Police located the firearm in the laundry room of the residence that matched the description given by the victim.

Board was arrested and transported to the Brevard County Jail. Police charged him with Aggravated Assault with a firearm when he intentionally pointed the rifle at the victim, causing him fear.
