MELBOURNE, Florida – One man thought that if he used a woman’s own hand to punch her, he wouldn’t be arrested or charged with Battery Domestic Violence, according to the Melbourne Police Department.
On Wednesday, Dec. 27, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Melbourne police received a call about a disturbance between a man and woman.
The victim told officers that her boyfriend, 29-year-old Frank White, took her keys to prevent her from leaving and battered her, the report said. She said the incident started with a verbal argument that turned physical.
“Frank grabbed her left hand and made her punch herself with her own hand,” the officer said. The victim advised that he did this so he would not be charged with a crime.
The victim had red marks on her face that began to appear as officers were at the scene. Officers said she had an area of swelling under her left eye consistent with having been punched in the face.
White was arrested and charged with Felony Domestic Violence, False Imprisonment, and transported to the Brevard County Jail.
White’s bond is set at $25,000.00.
Last October, White was also arrested for Battery, and Battery Domestic Violence. He was released on Nov. 29.
Last August, White was arrested for Battery Domestic Violence.
