MERRITT ISLAND, Florida – A 29-year-old man took off his clothes and shoes and threw them around the parking lot at a Sunoco gas station because the clerk wouldn’t sell him a cigar, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

Russell Scott Cejda, of Merritt Island, walked into the Sunoco gas station located at 405 E. Merritt Island Cswy to buy a cigar. However, the clerk refused service because he could not provide a valid identification to verify his age.

Cejda became angry, and took off his shoes and shirt and threw them around the store, causing a disturbance inside the business. His behavior caused the clerk to be in fear to the point she asked a customer to stay with her while she called law enforcement.

“Cedja exited the store and went into the parking lot and threw his clothing and shoes in the air, towards vehicles and yelled at customers,” the deputy said.

When the deputy made contact with Cedja, he said he wanted a cigar and they wouldn’t sell it to him.

The deputy could smell the distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from Cedja’s breath.

Cedja was arrested on a charge of Disorderly Intoxication and transported to the Brevard County Jail.
