MELBOURNE, Florida – A man was charged with Neglect of an Elderly Person after he kicked out his father and told officers the disease was “fu**ing stupid,” according to the Melbourne Police Department.

Police received the call Sunday at approximately 3:30 p.m. to the 900 block of Footbridge Drive after a man was knocking on random homes claiming it was his residence, the report said.

The man, identified as Kenneth Pohlmann, was sitting outside with two other people when police arrived.

Residents told police that Pohlmann suffers from severe dementia and was removed from an assisted living facility by his son, Larry.

Larry Polhmann, the son, stormed out of his residence and yelled “If you want to stay out here and wander then do so dad,” the report said.

“I made contact with Larry who advised his father was acting ‘fu**ing stupid’ and his disease is ‘fu**ing stupid.’ Larry said everything his father did and said was stupid and he didn’t want him in his home anymore,” the officer said.

Larry went on to tell police that he was frustrated and told his father to “get out of the residence,” the affidavit said. Larry told police that he fell asleep in the home for a couple of hours and realized his father was missing when he woke up.

“Larry stated his father is not to return to his residence so I’d better take him back to that facility,” the officer said.

Police determined that Larry Pohlmann failed to provide his father with the care, supervision, and services necessary to maintain his physical and mental health, according to the arrest affidavit.
