MELBOURNE, Florida – A woman called law enforcement because her boyfriend broke a window to her vehicle and chased her around with a flashlight, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
On Wednesday, the victim told deputies that she was in an argument with Jeffrey Wilbur Jensen Coleman, 38, then it escalated, the report said.
After a verbal argument, Coleman broke a side window of her vehicle with a flashlight causing approximately $900 in damage. He then removed two fuses to disable the vehicle, according to the affidavit.
When the girlfriend told Coleman she was calling the police, he “chased her with the flashlight and threw the light at her,” the affidavit said.
Although the flashlight struck the victim in the back, she declined medical attention.
She said the two have been together for nine years, and are currently living with his mother.
Coleman fled the scene before law enforcement arriving; however, he was later arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief and Battery Domestic Violence.
As of Thursday afternoon, Coleman is still being held at the Brevard County Jail.
