MELBOURNE – On January 1, 2019, William Brian Stillwell of Melbourne drove to the 3000 block of Woodsmill Drive and crashed a family party armed with a black Sig P226 9mm semi-automatic pistol.

The defendant had briefly been separated from one of the victims since Friday, December 28, 2018, due to Stillwell’s work-related stressors and other domestic related issues. The first victim, Naima Snelgrove, asked Stillwell to leave the residence and was shot in the left elbow and abdomen.

Stillwell was stating, “Fu** you, fu**ing wh**e,” and tells the screaming children he loves them. You clearly hear two gunshots and a victim screaming, during the 911 dispatch call, according to the affidavit.

The unnamed victim was struck in the left kneecap rendering her immobile. The children scream out, “No, daddy, no. I don’t want anyone to die.” — yells out to — to run. The child says, Please don’t shoot —. The rest of the background dispatch hears the Stillwell telling — to shoot him in the head, and he loves —. He never stopped calling — a wh**e.

Stillwell’s two 5-year-old children were exposed and/or directly witnessed the shooting of the victims, subsequently resulting in extreme fear which could be clearly heard during the 911 call placed by the third victim.

The twin children ran from the residence to a neighbor’s house for help; they were both uninjured.

The defendant made numerous spontaneous utterances that he fu**ed up, — is a wh**e and he saw her cheating on him having sex with his best friend on a recorded video on her phone, according to the affidavit.

Stillwell peacefully surrendered after a brief standoff, stated Melbourne Police Lt. Shawn Eising.

His third victim, a female, who has not been identified was shot in the knee. Her parents: father, Robert Snelgrove was shot in the groin, and her mother Naima Snelgrove was shot in the abdomen and elbow.

Stillwell, 39, has been charged with 3 counts of Attempted Murder, Armed Burglary Dwell/Struct – Aggravated Assault, Use Display Firearm or Carries Conceal Firearm During Commission Felony, and 2 counts of Child Abuse with Great Bodily Harm-Aggravated Assault.

He is currently at the Brevard County Jail on a no bond status.
