MELBOURNE, Florida – A man who thought he was heading home from a “strip bar” was driving around the Kennedy Space Center before security stopped him, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday night at around 9:00 p.m., Kennedy Space Center Security called law enforcement after a man was attempting to enter the property at the gate.

Jamie Jason Noriega, 37, of Melbourne, told deputies that he was on his way home to Suntree in Viera from Lido’s Cabaret in Cocoa Beach, the report said.

It was obvious that Noriega was heading the wrong way and didn’t know his sense of direction.

Deputies said Noriega displayed obvious signs of impairment and appeared to be intoxicated.

Noriega refused to complete standard field sobriety exercises and also a breath test.

“An open container of vodka was also found in the center console of his vehicle in which he was issued a citation,” the deputy said.

Noriega was arrested for DUI and transported to the Brevard County Jail for processing.
