Armed Robbery with Shots Fired in Melbourne

MELBOURNE, Florida – On Wednesday, at approximately 9:54 p.m., Melbourne Police Officers responded to Del’s Freeze, located at 402 N. Harbor City Blvd, regarding an armed robbery.

Upon arrival, they learned that a black male, described as 5’11” weighing approximately 170 pounds approached the window and began placing an order. While in the process of placing the order, he produced a handgun and demanded money.

When the clerks backed away from the window, the suspect fired a single shot through the open ordering window. The shot struck the ground in between the two employees as they were complying with his demands.

The suspect then fled southbound on foot with cash taken in the robbery.

A search involving multiple police units, canine, and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit met with negative results.
