PALM BAY, Florida – Planet Fitness, the innovative health club franchise known for its Judgement Free Zone® and affordable prices, is donating $5,000 to the Temple Terrace Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida (BGCCF). Media is invited to attend a check presentation on January 17 at 4:30 p.m. Across the country, Planet Fitness clubs raised more than $1 million for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. These funds will be used to support Planet Fitness’ Judgement Free Generation programs aimed at ending bullying and spreading kindness.

“This donation from our esteemed Partner, Planet Fitness, allows us to continue to enhance and promote our culture of good character & citizenship, as well as healthy lifestyles,” said Nic Freeman, Volunteer Resources Manager for BGCCF. “It bridges our collective efforts to educate our Members on being productive, responsible and caring citizens in our Clubs, and our communities. We’re so grateful for their consistent commitment to our Movement.”

The Palm Bay Planet Fitness Club was one of the top two performers in the southern region in October. In honor of this performance, Planet Fitness is donating to the Temple Terrace Branch of BGCCF to purchase new sports equipment including bean bags and a foosball table. These improvements will benefit the hundreds of children who use the club as a learning and playing environment several days a week.

BGCCF’s mission is to inspire and enable all youth to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. Last year, Planet Fitness Orlando received the 2017 BGCCF Partnership Award, an annual award that recognizes just one partner each year. With the Judgement Free Generation™ program, Planet Fitness has implemented several anti-bullying and pro-kindness programs with BGCCF, including bullying workshops, club-to-club volunteering such as field days, and the installation of Buddy Benches.

“Our partnership with the Boys & Girls Club has been a fulfilling way to reach out to the youth across the country,” said Anthony Roberts, Marketing Manager for Planet Fitness of Central Florida. “Instilling anti-bullying principles and attitudes of inclusiveness in the future men and women of our country is a passion Planet Fitness continues to stand behind.”

Planet Fitness launched The Judgement Free Generation in March 2016 with an initial $1.3M commitment to Boys & Girls Clubs of America and STOMP Out Bullying to fund programs nationwide. Since the program’s introduction, anti-bullying tools and resources created by STOMP Out Bullying have been made available to more than 4,000 Boys & Girls Clubs across the country, and training have been held for Boys & Girls Clubs’ staff to create positive, judgment-free environments that help kids thrive.
