PALM BAY – Boats & Motor Superstores at Palm Bay Marina – through a partnership with boating safety nonprofit, the Sea Tow Foundation and Sea Tow Sebastian – has announced the opening of a new Life Jacket Loaner Station, now available to Palm Bay-area boaters.

The station – located at Boat and Motor Superstores at Palm Bay Marina on Route 1 – holds life jackets that local boaters may borrow and use, free of charge. Life jackets are available in sizes ranging from infant to Adult XL, helping to ensure each of a boat’s passengers have access to necessary safety equipment.

“We’re excited to help out boaters in the Palm Bay area through this partnership,” said John Donaldson, owner of Sea Tow Sebastian. “It’s important for boaters of all ages to wear life jackets that fit them properly, both out on the water and on the docks.”

Since 2008, the Sea Tow Foundation’s Life Jacket Loaner program has provided nearly 50,000 life jackets through partnerships with local businesses and organizations across the country. These Life Jacket Loaner Stations are placed in locations where boaters will have easy access to the life jackets, including marinas like the one at Palm Bay. Boaters may borrow the life jackets at no cost and are asked to return them at the end of the day so that they are available for others to use.

“This partnership is an important step in ensuring public access to life jackets in the area,” said Gail R. Kulp, the Sea Tow Foundation’s executive director. “We know that these life jackets will save lives and allow for boaters to enjoy the beautiful Palm Bay waters safely.”
