PALM BAY, Florida – A 40-year-old woman is in the Brevard County Jail after stabbing her boyfriend following a game at Poolies Billiards, according to the Palm Bay Police Department

Officers say Cynthia Latrease Johnson was in a heated argument with her boyfriend Saturday night about allegations that he was having an affair, the affidavit said.

The victim said he was gone for three days and she assumed he was cheating on her, according to the report.

“The couple participated in a pool tournament at Poolies Billiards,” the officer said.

As the couple exited the business, they began arguing near the victim’s car.

“[Johnson] then armed herself with a pocket knife and stabbed [the victim] on his left side and on the back of his left shoulder,” police said.

The victim then fled the scene and drove directly to Holmes Regional Medical Center where his injuries required several staples, according to the affidavit.

Johnson told officers that she was in an argument with her boyfriend about his whereabouts for the past few days. She stated the two did play pool together, but a scuffle occurred after the game in the parking lot.

“[Johnson] stated during the course of the scuffle, she believes she did stab [the victim] in self-defense with a sharp object,” the officer said.

Johnson told police that her boyfriend was “choking and beating her” in the parking lot. Johnson said she didn’t report the incident to police because it’s common for the two to fight with each other,” the report said.
