PALM BAY, Florida – A 37-year-old told an officer that she didn’t think she would get a DUI for drinking wine, according to the West Melbourne Police Department.

A motorist called West Melbourne police after watching a vehicle hit multiple curbs on Hollywood Blvd, the report said.

Police found the vehicle at the 800 block of Hollywood Blvd where they saw the driver, identified as Ashley Brooke Ward of Palm Bay, holding her keys and grabbing her hair, according to the affidavit.

“She was holding her vehicle keys in her hands and grabbing at her hair while swaying in the driver’s seat,” the officer said.

Ward was unable to perform standardized field sobriety tests due to her intoxication, the affidavit said.

Police said Ward consented to a breath test, which showed results of .319 and .335, about four times the legal limit.

Ward was arrested for DUI and transported to the Brevard County Jail.
