PALM BAY, Florida – Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a 23-year-old man who was allegedly shot while driving through southwestern Palm Bay on Sunday night.

“He said there was an altercation and that he was shot in the lower body,” said Lt. Steve Bland of the Palm Bay Police Department.

According to the victim, who received non-life treating injuries, he was driving around Woodstock Drive at approximately 11 p.m. when another vehicle approached him.

He claims he did not recognize the shooter and did not get a good description of the vehicle.

“That’s a fairly unpopulated area of southwest Palm Bay,” Bland stated. “There are people who go out there to go off-roading or to just to go driving on the unmarked roads,” Bland added.

Anyone with any information about his incident should contact the Palm Bay Police Department at (321) 952-3539.
