PALM BAY, Florida – A 34-year-old man was arrested after he stabbed his girlfriend with a fork after she hid a liquor bottle from him, according to the Palm Bay Police Department.

Anthony D. Holmes was arrested Monday on a charge of Aggravated Battery Domestic Violence.

“The defendant intentionally caused great bodily harm to the victim by striking her with a fork,” the officer said.

The victim said she was in an argument with Holmes after hiding the liquor bottle and then locking herself in a room, according to the report.

Holmes then opened the door by using a knife and then stabbed the victim with a fork to the chest, the report said.

Police said the victim had two small puncture wounds that appeared to be consistent with her statement.

The victim has been in a relationship with Holmes for approximately eleven years but living together as a family for about five months.

Holmes was arrested and transported to the Brevard County Jail for booking.
