PALM BAY, Florida – A man who accused his wife of stealing money from him said “fu** you, take that, I don’t care bit**” as he pepper sprayed her, according to the Palm Bay Police Department.
The wife said she was lying in bed watching TV when her husband came into the room yelling at her. She said he got in her face and called her a thief.
The woman told police that he yelled “fu** you, take that, I don’t care bit**” before pointing a pepper spray bottle at her and discharging it.
“She had difficulty calling 911 because the spray was causing her respiratory distress,” the officer said.
“She was still coughing and having respiratory distress from the pepper spray even after going outside for fresh air,” according to the report.
The husband, identified as Armand Keith Lumpkins of Palm Bay, told police that he didn’t mean to pepper spray his wife. He said the bottle is attached to his keys and it went off accidentally while he was picking them up.
Lumpkins then told officers that only a small amount of pepper spray went off when he picked up his keys. He denied pointing the bottle directly towards his wife.
Lumpkins was arrested and charged with battery domestic violence.
