PALM BAY, Florida – Many people use Snapchat these days to communicate and send pictures, but one man decided to use the social media network to get food, according to the Palm Bay Police Department.

Almost immediately, a woman the victim met online agreed to go with him to get something to eat.

Police said the victim began to have concerns when the woman arrived approximately two hours late. Then, as they were pulling away in her vehicle, he became so concerned that he decided to flee.

As he left the vehicle, three masked men approached the vehicle and began to rob him. One of them hit the victim in the head with a shovel, while the other two pointed guns at him.

Fearing for his life, the victim gave the men $450 and his iPhone before escaping.

Palm Bay investigators were able to track down the woman in Titusville on social media. The woman told police that she thought her and the other men were traveling to Palm Bay to purchase marijuana from the victim.
