PALM BAY, Florida – A 28-year-old man was arrested after firing three rounds from a firearm in the Palm Bay Club.

The Palm Bay Police Department received the call from the victim, stating that man threatened her and a boyfriend during an argument in her apartment.

“During the phone call, dispatch operators were able to hear possible gunshots in the background,” the officer said.

The victim confirmed with dispatch that three rounds from a gun were fired in her direction before the suspect fled the area on foot. She and her boyfriend were in fear for their lives.

Laron Latradius Debose, the suspect, was also seen by witnesses in the apartment complex.

One witness told police that he heard three rounds fired outside of his apartment. He then went to the window to investigate the sounds and observed a tall black male running from the area.

Officers went to Debose’s home in the 1400 block of Dozier Circle in Palm Bay and saw him riding a bicycle near the residence.

As officers tried to make contact, Debose made his way into the residence and locked the door, ignoring all commands given by officers.

“A perimeter was established around the residence. Commands were given over the public announcement speaker mounted in a patrol vehicle with no response. After a period of time, Debose exited the residence and was placed into custody,” police said.

Debose admitted to firing a “few rounds in the air” but he said he didn’t shoot anyone. Police retrieved the firearm within his residence.

The revolver had five spent .22 caliber casings and one live .22 caliber round in the cylinder.

Debose said he was in an argument with the victim and her boyfriend in front of the apartment building. He said he’s the father of the victim’s child. Debose said the boyfriend had a firearm wrapped in a shirt and pointed it at him.

At that time, Debose removed his gun from his pocket and held it down by his side. Debose said threats were made about fighting and firearms.

On June 5, 2014, Debose was convicted of a 3rd degree Felony for Drug Possession without a prescription.

On August 8, 2014, Debose was convicted of a Battery with Domestic Violence.

According to jail records, he was arrested in March 2017 for cocaine and marijuana possession.

Debose was arrested and transported to the Brevard County Jail where he was charged with Felony Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, and Resisting Arrest.
