PALM BAY, Florida – A 20-year-old woman was arrested on charges of DUI and reckless driving after doing “donuts” in a Palm Bay parking lot.

Cecilia Kristina Casella was seen driving her vehicle in circles in a parking lot at the Winn-Dixie plaza located at 190 Malabar Road in Palm Bay.

Police arrived on scene to find Casella doing 180+ degree turns, commonly referred to as “donuts” with her vehicle.

“I saw the defendant’s vehicle coming to a stop and watched as it began spinning the tires,” the officer said.

As police pulled closer to the vehicle, Casella “rapidly accelerated” through the parking lot towards the Winn-Dixie grocery store, which was open.

“The plaza was open and there were multiple vehicles and persons driving through,” police said.

Police initiated a traffic stop and immediately smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Casella. She also had emotional behavior, dilated pupils, and watery eyes.

After performing field sobriety tests, officers determined Casella was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely. Breath test results showed .104 and .108, over the legal limit.

Casella is under the legal drinking age, and she was on probation for a prior reckless driving charge.

Casella was arrested and transported to the Brevard County Jail where she was charged with DUI, and Reckless Driving.
