MELBOURNE, Florida – A 40-year-old man was arrested after causing a disturbance at an apartment complex in Melbourne when two women refused to give him a hug, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

Joshua S. Pinkerton, of Melbourne, was arrested on a charge of Disorderly Intoxication Thursday afternoon.

Pinkerton was intoxicated as he walked in the parking lot of an apartment complex located at 630 Kurek Court in Melbourne.

He then went up to a parked vehicle that was occupied by two women and reached through the window.

As Pinkerton reached through the window, he asked one woman for a hug.

The woman told him to leave her alone and rolled up the window.

“He became irate, began making threatening gestures as if he would punch the window and both occupants stated they were in fear for their safety,” the deputy said.

Pinkerton was detained by deputies and ultimately transported to the Brevard County Jail.
