PALM BAY, Florida – A 43-year-old Palm Bay man was arrested and charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant woman after punching his girlfriend multiple times.

The Palm Bay Police Department was called Wednesday afternoon about a disturbance at the 1800 block of NW Andover Street.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with Tuvell J. Sims who said he was in an argument with his girlfriend and she became enraged and knocked his flat screen television off the entertainment center, the report said.

“I observed the screen of the television to be cracked, and damaged,” the officer said.

The officer then spoke with Sims’ girlfriend, who is 10 weeks pregnant, said he pushed her into the television while she was holding a child in her arms, causing the TV to break. She was then in fear of her safety and ran out of the room to her vehicle, according to the report.

“Tuvell began to follow her, and just as she got to the front door, he punched her (from behind) in the left side of her face,” police said.

Sims pursued her on foot and once she got into the vehicle, he began to punch the side of her vehicle.

Police observed what appeared to be human skin, as well as blood on the passenger side of the vehicle. The girlfriend said the skin and blood was from Sims punching the vehicle.

The girlfriend had a red mark, bruise, and swollen eye, according to officers.

Tuvell Sims was arrested and transported to the Brevard County Jail.
