PALM BAY, Florida – Police received a call in reference to shots fired at the 1500 block of Dallam Street in Palm Bay.
The victim and several witnesses told police that someone in a blue car had fired two gunshots as they were driving past the Palm Bay residence.
Officers were told the vehicle belonged to an ex-boyfriend who was dating their daughter.
The driver was identified as Kevin Orville Brissett, 22, who recently had an altercation with the parents of his ex-girlfriend.
The parents told officers that Brissett had battered them, then returned later with the gun and fired two shots.
Officers made contact with Brissett at his home. He admitted to carrying an armed .38 caliber revolver, but Brissett said he wasn’t trying to shoot anyone.
“He discharged his .38 caliber revolver two times into the air from his vehicle as warning shots for the family,” the officer said.
Brissett fled the scene after firing the gun, which was supposed to be in retaliation for the physical altercation that took place.
Brissett was arrested in Palm Bay and transported to the Brevard County Jail where he was charged with 1 count of discharging a firearm from a vehicle.
