PALM BAY, Florida – A 29-year-old man destroyed two televisions, a bedroom door, and several other items in a house because his “mother is always on his case” about things, according to the Palm Bay Police Department.
Alvin Chase Robertson, who resides with his mother at the 2600 block of SE Tepee Avenue in Palm Bay, was arrested Monday evening on charges of Battery with Bodily Harm, and Criminal Mischief.
The mother told officers that Robertson grew angry during an argument and started throwing vases throughout the house, the report said. He then punched a 60″ TV in the living room, collapsing the screen, then threw it on the ground, according to the report.
The victim said her son slapped her in the back with an open hand, “but it wasn’t hard,” the arrest affidavit said.
“The victim was so scared of her son that she had to run out of the house to a neighbor’s house for protection. She described his actions as aggressive and scary,” the officer said.
Robertson then spoke with officers and admitted to breaking all the items in the home.
Palm Bay police then conducted a criminal history check on Robertson and found out he has one conviction of Battery in the state of Florida, and another Battery conviction in Michigan. His charges were upgraded to a Felony.
Robertson was transported to the Brevard County Jail where he is still being held on a $7,000 bond.
