PALM BAY, Florida – We’ve been keeping a close eye on the tropics this week as Hurricane Florence moves closer to the east coast of the United States.

There are no threats to Palm Bay or Melbourne from this or any other hurricane at this time.

Hurricane Florence is now packing winds of up to 140 mph, and almost at a Category 5.

There are mandatory evacuation orders in South Carolina, North Carolina, and the Virginia coastline. These states are under a hurricane and storm surge watch.

As of tomorrow, tropical storm force winds are expected to reach the Carolina coasts

In Palm Bay and Melbourne, we can expect rain and rough seas near the beach areas. Marine advisories are expected, according to the National Weather Service.

Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Isaac continue to churn in the Atlantic but are no threats to us at this time.
