Double Header Wawa Stores Grand Openings in Melbourne and Palm Bay

PALM BAY, Florida – Wawa will be opening two new locations tomorrow, August 30, 2018, at 8:00 a.m. The new Melbourne store, located at 1105 Palmetto Ave, will have their ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:00 a.m. and the Palm Bay store, located at 850 Malabar Rd. will have their’s at 11 a.m.

Both ribbon cutting celebrations will have exciting fanfare, “Neighborgoodie” giveaways (while supplies last), a charitable Hoagies for Heroes competitions between local police departments and fire departments and much more.

Coming to help celebrate the new Melbourn location will be:

  • City of Melbourne Mayor Kathy Meehan
  • Members of the City of Melbourne Police & Fire Departments
  • Wawa General Manager, Don Toogood
  • Wawa Area Manager, Michael Carragher
  • Wawa Director of Store Operations, David Prevost
  • Wawa associates and customers
  • Wawa’s mascot, Wally Goose

Don Toogood will serve as general manager of the Melbourne store. He will be responsible for a team of nearly 40 associates.

Helping celebrate the new Palm Bay Wawa location will be:

  • Local representatives
  • Members of Palm Bay Police & Fire Departments
  • Wawa General Manager, Erica Havens
  • Wawa Area Manager, Michael Carragher
  • Wawa Director of Store Operations, David Prevost
  • Wawa associates and customers
  • Wawa’s mascot, Wally Goose

Hoagies for Heroes Competitions:

During the Hoagies for Heroes competitions, local police departments and fire departments will go head to head to see who can build the most hoagies in three minutes in the traditional Wawa way.

At the end of the charitable competition, Wawa will be presenting checks on behalf of the winning and runner-up teams, for $1,000 to the charities of their choice.
