PALM BAY, Florida – A Brevard County Corrections Deputy was killed in an off-duty motorcycle accident in Palm Bay, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
Corrections Deputy Jonathan “Keith” Hardin was tragically killed Friday night in the Palm Bay accident. He was a ten year veteran with the sheriff’s office.
Hardin, who graduated from the Eastern Florida State College Criminal Justice Institute, was well-loved and known throughout the jail complex having a big heart and always willing to lend a hand to anyone.
Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said Hardin took great pride in being a member of the Sheriff’s Office and was a valued member with the agency.
Hardin is preceded in death by his spouse, Patricia Creagh-Hardin, who was a retired Corrections Technician with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and is survived by his sister Jennifer Worthington, currently residing in Georgia, his brother Clifford Hardin who lives in South Carolina, and two sons, Charles Hardin of Cocoa and Johnathan Hardin of South Carolina.
“At this time our agency is working with the family to complete the final arrangements that will be shared with our community once completed,” Sheriff Ivey said.
“Please keep Keith and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and please know that while this has been an extremely tough week for our agency, our burden of grief has been lightened as much as possible by having the love and support of our entire community,” Ivey added.
