MELBOURNE, Florida – Police in Melbourne arrested a man with a ZZ Top beard after he ran off with a woman’s purse.

Scott Roland Gordon, 57, was in the Maxwell King Center on Wickham Road when he snatched a purse and ran down Post Road in Melbourne.

The caller yelled “someone stole my purse” by someone wearing a black t-shirt with a ZZ Top beard running through the parking lot.

“I observed a male matching that same description walking Eastbound on the sidewalk towards me,” the officer said.

After ignoring commands to stop, the officer had to physically take him down to place handcuffs on him.

The officer said Gordon began clenching and grabbing the officer’s genitalia area with his right hand while giving him loud commands to “stop grabbing me!”

Gordon was arrested and transported to the Brevard County Jail.
