PALM BAY, Florida – A woman tried to throw Pine-Sol in her boyfriend’s eyes for not giving her money to buy methamphetamine. The Palm Bay police department was dispatched to the 2100 block of Agora Circle in reference to a domestic battery.
Police met with the victim at the apartment where he told officers that his live-in girlfriend, 40-year-old Taryn Ann Velez, were in an argument. During the incident, Velez allegedly tried to throw Pine-Sol into his eyes but missed, according to the affidavit.
The boyfriend said Velez came home and started to yell at him for “no reason.” When she asked for money, he told her “no.”
“[The boyfriend] advised that he did not give Taryn any money because she only uses it to buy Methamphetamine,” the officer said. After refusing to give her the money, she tried to throw the Pine-Sol liquid in his eyes, which hit him in the face and arm, the report said.
The boyfriend then called law enforcement. Velez then ran out of the Palm Bay apartment on foot.
While talking to the victim, Velez called the boyfriend’s cell phone, and an officer spoke to her. Velez told police she was never at the apartment complex when the battery took place. In fact, she had not been there all day.
“While speaking to Taryn, she was breathing heavily as if she had been running … I asked her where she was at so that I could meet with her to discuss the incident,” the officer said.
Velez told the officer she didn’t know where she was at, then told him she wasn’t going to tell him. Velez eventually hung up the phone.
Velez was located a short time later in Palm Bay and arrested for Battery Domestic Violence.
