MELBOURNE, Florida – Police arrested a woman Tuesday at approximately 1:30 a.m. after she passed out behind the wheel of her car with a child in the backseat, according to the report.

Daniele M. Harthon, 29, was found passed out with a glass pipe sitting on her lap, the report said.

“I observed a female passed out and unresponsive in the driver’s seat. I put the vehicle in park and observed a glass pipe normally used to smoke illegal drugs sitting between her legs. I then looked into the rear seat and discovered a small child,” the officer said.

The child, who was sleeping in a fetal position, was removed from the vehicle and secured with another officer.

Brevard County Fire Rescue arrived on scene and began first aid on Harthon by administering 2 doses of Narcan, a medication commonly used to contradict Heroin overdoses.

After approximately 2 minutes, Harthon regained consciousness and was transported to Medical Regional Hospital.

After she was medically cleared from the hospital, Harthon was arrested on a charge of Child Neglect and transported to the Brevard County Jail for processing.
