Police Take Down Palm Bay Cocaine Dealer

MELBOURNE – The Melbourne Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit took down a cocaine dealer from Palm Bay after conducting an operation targeting drug sales at the Monkey Bar in Melbourne, FL.

The affiant was working in an undercover capacity, wore an audio/video recording and transmitting device and made contact with a man their confidential source knew as Luis. He stated that he could get cocaine for her.

Luis walked around the bar and made contact with a black man, whom the confidential source knew as Calvin. Luis came back and spoke to the affiant and said he could get the cocaine from the male he talked to, but the male would not deal directly with her.

Luis further said the “quality of his cocaine was not very good, so to only buy $20.00 worth”. She handed Luis $20 of recorded police investigative funds, and he went to go back and make the transaction with Clavin.

He handed the affiant a small plastic bag containing a white powder that later tested positive as cocaine. Luis then provided her with his Snapchat name to keep in contact. His profile stated his name was Luis H.

After speaking a few minutes, the confidential source and affiant departed the Monkey Bar and met with the Special Investigations Unit.

Luis Antonio Hernandez, 34, was arrested and charged with Cocaine – Sell Schedule II, Cocaine – Poss W Intent Sell Mfg Deliver Sch II, and Cocaine – Possession on Monday, February 11, 2019.

His total bond amount is $45,000.
