Palm Bay woman shoots man during domestic dispute

PALM BAY, Florida – A domestic dispute turned violent when a woman shot a man at her home, according to the Palm Bay Police Department.

Angela Marie Hawthorne, 45, of the 600 block of Almansa Street Northeast, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault causing bodily harm.

Officers went to Hawthorne’s home about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday after a 911 call about a domestic disturbance. A man at the home suffered a gunshot wound.

Palm Bay Fire Rescue took the man to Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne where he was admitted.

Police told Palm Bay Daily the man is in stable condition.

No information was available about what led to the shooting. Detectives were still investigating the home Thursday morning.

Hawthorne is being held at the Brevard County Detention Center in Sharpes without bail.
