PALM BAY, Florida – Officers were dispatched to 1951 Malabar Road last Sunday about a woman pointing a firearm inside Fred Poppe Regional Park, according to the Palm Bay Police Department.

Witnesses told police that a married couple were arguing when the wife, identified as Nicole Bowen, retrieved a gun from her vehicle and began to point it towards her husband in the park, according to the affidavit.

At that time, the witness shouted to everyone in the park “she has a gun” before calling the police. The husband and several other people fled the scene as Bowen gave chase after them, the report said.

Officers arrived and saw Bowen standing next to her vehicle with the butt of a firearm sticking out of her purse, the affidavit said.

Bowen denied that an argument took place or pointing her gun at anyone, the report said.

The husband returned to the park when police got there and advised that the two were in an argument, but he wasn’t there when she pulled the gun out, reports show.

Police arrested Bowen for carrying a concealed firearm without a permit. Bond was set at $3,000.
