PALM BAY, Florida – A woman told law enforcement that her neighbor, who lives in the apartment next to her, stole her water meter, according to Palm Bay Police Department.

The water meter was found by a city employee, who notified the woman. She then contacted Palm Bay police about the theft.

Officers arrived at the scene and observed a water hose connected from the woman’s apartment to the suspect’s apartment with the water turned on.

Police made contact with Thierry Jacob Scott and asked him about the water meter and hose. He first denied any knowledge about the theft.

However, Scott then told officers that he needed to steal the water so that his children could take a bath.

Scott was arrested for the theft and then told police he was on felony probation for trafficking in stolen property. He was transported to the Brevard County Jail for processing.
