MELBOURNE – Jonathan Blake Gignilliat, 36, pulled out a knife at the Walmart liquor store when he was told he had to pay for a bottle of liquor.

On Thursday, January 17, 2019, the Melbourne Police Department was dispatched to the Melbourne Walmart, located at 3550 South Babcock Street.

Gignilliat took a bottle of liquor without rendering payment. While taking the liquor, the store manager advised Gignilliat that he is not allowed to take the alcohol.

The defendant then pulled out a knife and waved it threateningly towards the manager in an attempt to exit the store with the merchandise. The store manager feared for his safety and allowed Gignilliat to exit the store.

Gignilliat was arrested and charged with Robbery With Weapon. His bond was set at $50,000.
