PALM BAY, Florida – A 20-year-old man is behind bars on multiple charges after he shot three rounds from a firearm at a house party, according to the Palm Bay Police Department.
Andrew James Mackie was charged with Carrying a Concealed Firearm, Discharging a Firearm in Public, Improper Exhibit of a Firearm, and Using a Firearm while Under the Influence of Alcohol.
Police say Mackie fired three gunshots from an SCCY 9 mm firearm in front of approximately 20 people during a party at 600 Port Malabar Blvd. in Palm Bay, according to the affidavit.
When police were called, Mackie fled the scene and hid behind the home until officers found him.
Mackie was still carrying the firearm, which was inside the front pocket of his pants. Palm Bay Police also found out the gun was stolen.
Officers said they could smell a strong odor of alcohol as Mackie spoke. He refused a breath test sample to determine his level of intoxication.
Mackie was arrested and transported to the Brevard County Jail.
On the way to jail, Mackie had multiple outbursts and continued to kick and punch the door to the vehicle.
