PALM BAY, Florida – A 63-year-old man was arrested after brandishing a firearm at a woman in a Taco Bell parking lot, according to the Palm Bay Police Department.
John Taylor Reed, of Palm Bay, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and a charge of Carrying a Concealed Firearm.
The victim called the police and said Reed pointed a black semi-automatic pistol at her and said to get the f— away from his vehicle. The victim was terrified that Reed would shoot her, so she contacted police, the report said.
According to the victim, Reed was backed into a parking spot in front of the Taco Bell located at 1120 Malabar Road SE. He left the scene just before officers arrived.
The victim was able to give police the tag number and vehicle description. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a felony stop at the corner of Emerson Drive and Lilac Street.
Reed was detained, and a concealed black Glock 19 was located under the driver’s seat, which was not securely encased. The firearm had one round in the chamber and four in the magazine. Reed does not have a concealed carry permit.
Reed was arrested and transported to the Brevard County Jail.
According to jail records, Reed was arrested in 2013 on a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
