PALM BAY, Florida – Deputies say that a 56-year-old man was arrested after allegedly breaking his wife’s nose for taking their golf cart out for a ride, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

John Joseph Dorsch was taken into custody Sunday night and charged with Battery Domestic Violence.

Deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of Schrader Avenue where they observed Dorsch’s wife bleeding from her nose at a neighbor’s home, reports show.

“The female … stated her nose might be broken, but she did not state how it happened,” the deputy said.

A neighbor told deputies that she heard a loud noise coming from outside Dorsch’s home while watching television. She looked outside and saw the victim yell “Let me in” while banging on the front door to her own home, according to reports.

The neighbor observed the victim ripping the screen out to a window, then bangs on the window advising Dorsch to let her in, according to the affidavit.

Soon after, the neighbor saw Dorsch grabbing his wife “by the hair and dragging her inside the residence,” the report said.

“[The neighbor] then observed the lights inside the residence flicker as if there was a struggle going on inside the home,” the deputy said.

Dorsch told deputies he was mad at the victim “for taking the golf cart out with the neighbor.” Other than that, “nothing happened”at home between him and the victim, the affidavit said.
