PALM BAY, Florida – Police said a 27-year-old man was arrested at the Palm Bay Walmart after stealing a prescription from a 90-year-old woman.

Deputies with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Walmart last Friday at approximately 2:45 p.m. about a theft.

Taylor Lee Chamberlain, of Palm Bay, was seen stealing a bottle of Temazepam from a woman’s shopping cart, according to the report.

Chamberlain was still in the store as deputies arrived. They waited outside while Chamberlain exited Walmart and was ordered to the ground.

“Video shows him go up to her cart and steal the bottle of drugs,” a deputy said.

Soon after, Chamberlain went outside and hid the pill bottle near a cart rack before going back into Walmart.

As the theft was unfolding, the pills were recovered by a concerned citizen and returned the pharmacy.

During his arrest, Chamberlain told deputies he knew it was a mistake and that’s why he hid the pill bottle near the cart rack so that “staff would find them,” according to the affidavit.

Chamberlain was already on probation from a cocaine charge.
