MERRITT ISLAND, Florida – A 35-year-old woman was arrested on a charge of Battery after she removed her dentures before striking a man over a barking dog in Merritt Island, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

Mary Jean Greenlief, of Merritt Island, was in a verbal altercation in the 400 block of Warren Street with a man over his two small dogs barking at her, the report said.

When one of the dogs bit her ankle, she picked up the dogs.

Greenlief then allegedly walked over to the victim, removed her dentures from her mouth, then threw a punch, striking the man on the right side of his face, according to the report.

Deputies then made contact with a witness who advised the man approached Greenlief to pick up his dogs and was punched in the face.

After the punch, Greenlief walked back to her residence.

Law enforcement then made contact with Greenlief, who said she never hit the victim.

Greenlief was transported to the Brevard County Jail.

According to jail records, Greenlief was also arrested in October 2016 on a charge of Battery.

She was also arrested for Battery Domestic Violence in July 2016, September 2015, and August 2015.

In December 2015, Greenlief was arrested on a Battery Felony charge.
