MELBOURNE, Florida – Police say a 53-year-old patron broke a video game monitor by punching it at Sully’s Backstreet Bar in Melbourne.

Darren Certosimo was sitting at the game when customers heard him break the screen. He was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief.

Prior to police arrival at 1841 Avocado Avenue, the owner of Sully’s Backstreet Bar attempted to remove Certosimo. The two struggled briefly until Certosimo sat back down and waited for law enforcement, according to the report.

Melbourne police say Certosimo admitted to drinking “several alcoholic beverages” while playing the Megatouch entertainment video game.

“Darren admitted he became frustrated and punched the screen with his right hand,” the officer said.

Certosimo said he made a mistake and admitted to “becoming angered with the game” and broke it.

After Melbourne police reviewed security footage showing the incident, they took Certosimo into custody and transported him to the Brevard County Jail.
