MELBOURNE, Florida – A 19-year-old man was arrested on charges of burglary after stealing multiple items from a Melbourne home belonging to his parents while they were away, according to police.
Eric Issac Fernandez was seen at the Melbourne residence without permission, taking numerous items.
Some of the items include multiple televisions, laptop computers, game systems, sound systems, sneakers, clothing items, a purse, and jewelry.
“In the process of removing the items, the defendant caused the residence to be left in significant disarray,” the officer said. “According to witness testimony, the defendant was observed at the victim’s residence multiple times during their absence from the home, between the dates of 9/16 to 9/23.”
On the date of his arrest, Fernandez was seen at the residence removing two bags of clothing and other items with his girlfriend. Fernandez also gave a purse and shirt to his girlfriend that belonged to his mother.
However, Fernandez told the girlfriend that they were gifts he purchased for her, as well as a pair of sunglasses.
Fernandez was seen wearing multiple pieces of jewelry, a pair of black and yellow Jordan sneakers and a silver Guess watch, which his parents reported stolen earlier in the day.
Fernandez was arrested in Melbourne and transported to the Brevard County Jail on charges of Burglary and Grand Theft. Bond set at $5,000.00.
