PALM BAY, Florida – A 63-year-old man was arrested Friday night after crashing his vehicle into a homeowner’s yard and a parked car, according to the Palm Bay Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to a home located at the 900 block of SE Brickell Street about a vehicle crash. The homeowner told police that the driver was possibly drunk, reports show.
The driver of the crashed vehicle was identified as Raul Colon, of Palm Bay, who had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes, according to the affidavit.
Colon performed standardized field sobriety tests and agreed to a breath test, the report said.
“I determined the defendant was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely,” the officer said. Results of the breath test were .160 and .166. Colon was arrested for DUI.
Police said Colon has two prior DUI offenses and caused approximately $5,000 in damage to the parked vehicle at the home. There was also damage to the vehicle he drove, which did not belong to him.
Colon was turned over to the Brevard County Jail for booking.
