MELBOURNE, Florida – A 29-year-old Melbourne woman was arrested after she charged her boyfriend with a knife, as he defended himself using a wooden stick, according to the report.

Melbourne Police responded to a disturbance at the 100 block of Cambridge Lane where they met with the victim and Amanda Elizabeth Wilbun.

Wilbun and the victim have been in a relationship for four years and live together with a child in common.

The victim said they were in a verbal argument after she accused him of cheating on her.

As the argument escalated, Wilbun went into the kitchen drawer, proceeded to “shuffle through” the drawer, and pulled out a black handled knife.

The victim told police that Wilbun charged towards him with the knife and he struck her with a wooden stick in self-defense.

“I observed the kitchen drawer open and it appeared that the contents had been gone through,” the officer said.

The knife that matched the exact description by the victim was found on top of the other items in the drawer.

The girlfriend told officers that her boyfriend first struck her with a wooden stick after she followed him through the living room.

Wilbun was arrested and transported to the Brevard County Jail where she was charged with Aggravated Assault W/Deadly Weapon Without Intent to Kill.
