PALM BAY – An arrest has been made in the murder of Anthony Franklin Mitchell, 55, whose body was found in a camper at Wickham Park in Melbourne in December of 2018.

The woman arrested was 47-year-old Penny Rebecca Pospisil, who was Mitchell’s girlfriend. The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Pospisil on Friday.

Mitchell’s family last spoke to him on August 22nd, 2018, while the couple was living in Lake Panasoffkee at the Lake Pan RV Village. During the following week, investigators said that Pospisil began telling her friends and family that Mitchell had passed away.

Shortly after, people at the RV park started smelling a foul odor coming from the camper. Investigators believe the man was murdered, due to blunt force trauma, in August 2018.

It was around the end of September when Pospisil transported the camper to Wickham Park in Melbourne. Mitchell’s body was found dismembered and in the advanced stages of decomposition in December.

Pospisil was arrested at her Melbourne home on Friday and charged with second-degree murder and abuse of a human body.
